Privacy Policy
The short version
The app has no account, no login and no server of its own. It never asks for your name, ID number, salary slip, bank details or passwords. Everything you set on the sliders, tick on the checklist or mark as read stays on your phone and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
The one exception is advertising: the app shows ads through Google AdMob, and the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects the device advertising ID to do so. Details are below.
1. Information we do not collect
- Your name, email address, phone number or postal address
- Your South African ID number, passport number or any identity document
- Salary, employer, income or expense figures — the calculators work entirely on your phone
- Bank account, card or any financial account details
- Passwords, PINs or one-time passwords
- Contacts, SMS messages, call logs, photos, files or precise location
The app requests no runtime permissions and has no access to your camera, storage, contacts, microphone or location. It does not accept loan applications and does not collect applicant data.

This data is stored with Android's on-device storage (DataStore). It is never uploaded or synced. You can clear your progress in Settings → Reset progress, or remove everything by uninstalling the app.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app is free and is supported by ads from Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads and to limit how often you see the same one, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process:
- Your device advertising ID (Android Advertising ID)
- Device information such as model, operating system version and language
- Approximate location derived from your IP address (country or region level)
- Ad interactions such as impressions and clicks
- Diagnostic information about how ads load and perform
This data is collected and shared with Google for advertising and analytics purposes. We do not receive it in a form that identifies you. Google's processing is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choices
- Where the law requires consent, a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform appears before any ad is requested. You can review or change that choice at any time in Settings → Privacy choices (shown when it applies in your region).
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in your phone's settings under Google → Ads (or Privacy → Ads).
4. Network requests
- Ad configuration. A small JSON file is fetched over HTTPS so ads can be switched on or off without an app update. The request contains no information about you.
- Ad serving. Requests made by the Google Mobile Ads SDK, described above.
- This policy. Tapping "Privacy policy" in the app opens this page in your browser.
All traffic uses HTTPS; unencrypted traffic is disabled in the app.
5. Children
The app is intended for adults planning or repaying education finance. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
6. Retention and deletion
Because no personal data leaves your phone to us, there is nothing for us to keep or delete on a server. Local data is removed when you reset it in Settings or uninstall the app. For data Google holds in connection with ads, use Google's controls linked above.
7. Your rights
Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and similar laws, you may ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information about you, and you may object to its processing. As this app keeps no personal information about you on any server, those rights are met by the on-device controls above. If you believe otherwise, contact us and we will respond.
8. About the figures in the app
Calculator and simulator results are estimates based on publicly available information. They are not a quotation, an offer or a statement of any real loan account, and they are not financial advice. Your lender's pre-agreement statement and quotation are what apply.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date at the top.
